Just got my car back and wanted to say thanks to Dave, Lockie (sorry about spelling) and the rest of the crew. These guys know their VL's and mine has been transformed since I got it 6 months ago. The latest round of mods has seen, Battery in boot with isolation switch. Large front mount intercooler 3 inch piping on the cold side (Dr Bolt - thanks) XF throttle body Custom plenum and Mace engineering heat soak insulator Larger inectors fitted. Relocated P/S res. Insane oil catch can with return from Dr Bolt again. (maintenance free) Car is yet to be tuned but it drives great and once the 5 speed, the Z32 AFM, pod filter and Metal head gasket are on she can be tuned and should be sweet!!! Very happy. Thanks again and would recommend to Commodore nuts in the Adelaide area.

---------- Post added 14-11-11 at 19:07 ---------- Damn, I stuffed up the pic......... http://s1143.photobucket.com/albums/n633/dorian1010/ ---------- Post added 14-11-11 at 19:12 ---------- The car has a high mount TO4E, external gate with screamer, VL disc brake diff, nistune, VR front brakes and booster and customer paint in hyper acid rush. I have only just gotten the car with half the mods already done. It had really uncomfy racing seats which are now swapped for Calais items and the ride height is raised so not illlegal. I put the airbox on but it seems a well done pod will be better so that will be next mod. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

When that Lockie gets his hands on a VL thats when the business happens. He works on my car also and has made a great difference to mine also. Cars looking very tidy mate. Had a look at it the other day when I was there.

Awesome workshop IMO, I have been haunting the place of late, everytime I drive past I stop in to enquire about more mods to do to the car. I am following Lockies advice which has been very sound. I just got back from a 25min. "drive" to post some letters, haha, the air was cool and the car is driving really nice. Happy day.

Nice work, I saw it in the car park there today with the bonnet up! where'd you get the plenum?

The plenum is a "gumtree" special, it seems to be great for what I am after which is simply neatness and low-down torque for street driving. Gumtree is the used parts online website in case anyone has not heard of it.

What's going on there with what I think is the oil feed for the turbo?

It looks a bit odd but it is a semi-hard line that is doing the job until the new low mount setup goes on. We are looking at tidying up the hot side soon.

what did you use to mount the p/s res where it is

They made up some little brackets for me. I have only really started modifying this car and am really loving how it is progressing. My aims are reliability, stealth outside appearance and some reasonable performance.

Wait for update pics. Car is getting low mount with HPC coating and external wastegate adaptor, custom oil lines, plumback turbosmart BOV, Z32 AFM hidden in the guard and then off to the dyno. Also just finished getting the rocker cover sorted in wrinkle coat red with earls fittings in black for the catch can. New dump pipe with wastegate going back into the exhaust so not so loud and now the whole exhaust is 3 inch madrel with 100 cell cat and no mufflers, just 1 resonator at the rear. The R33 5 speed conversion with Exedy HD clutch was also done by Lockie. Once this is done she is off to the dyno to be tuned on 10 PSI and ready to drive. Half the interior is one in black already and so am slowly getting the rest black bit by bit. The chasers are sprayed in Asteroid now too which looks good.

How does your car go with the NISTUNE in it? What version did you get? Do they have the software at Grange Rd Auto Worx to tune it?

I have no idea what version it is but has just been updated to suit Z32 AFM. ---------- Post added 29-07-12 at 16:06 ---------- New pics soon with the new rocker cover and fittings.
