Hey all, was just after some recommendations on what turbo to use on a RB20 in my VL Calais? I am after all round performance with minimal lag. It's currently running a GT3540 from a XR6 Turbo which has way too much lag due to it's 1.08 exhaust housing. I'm currently running.. * Bosch 044 Fuel Pump * Stainless Top Mount Manifold * 3" Turbo Back Exhaust (Mandrel bent) * Front Mount Intercooler * Haltech Platinum 2000 * Stock Internals Please state also what kind of power I should expect with the turbo specified. Thanks for the help guys! - Removed as per rules - Yeti Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

As far as I can tell you have a FMIC, exhaust and a tune. No bigger injectors, cams, anything like that. So not a lot more than stock. And no wonder you have so much lag - you're running a turbo for a 4L motor on a basically standard 2L motor.

The car was purchased for peanuts with that wrong turbo setup which is why I'm asking for some advice in what turbo to replace it with.

Instead of using the how long is a piece of string analogy I used the broad power probability meter. Its very rare device which I, and I alone can master. I wouldn't even put a 3076r on one, something in the GT25-28 range on a small rear housing if it was me and you want some response.

So does someone feel like pointing me in the right direction? If I have to replace injectors to get the most out of my stock engine then so be it. Just want the right advice that's all.

176rwkw - Making guesses on power output with totally different bolt on parts is difficult.. it comes down to how hard your willing to push the engine. IE stick 20psi up its guts and make 200rwkw.. It all depends. Put some 42 or 60lb'ers in it and you will be fine. You will need side feed I think unless you change to a 14mm rail setup. In which case you need a rail and injectors etc etc Possibly some second hand GTR injectors?

They don't have any for sale of the external gate versions so I just sent through a email to them now. What injectors do you recommend? I don't understand what top feed & side feed is. I mean.. How do I know what mine is? Sorry I'm kinda n00b. I'm trying to teach myself Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

the RB20 is top feed best bet is to sign up on skylines australia and ask them as when it comes to injectors for rb20 im not sure as mine are side feed and there is limited amount of manufacturers who make side feeds. but i would suggest sard bosch etc type in injectors rb20 into ebay it will give you options there or go onto injectorsonline.com they will help you ---------- Post added 08-11-11 at 13:02 ---------- also you will need a external gate if you dont have one already. id be running a 38mm tial or proboost. if on a tight budget proboost do a good 38mm wastegate for half the price of a tial
