at the moment im thinking of going to manual. ive found a manual gearbox out of a series 1 vs v8 , but all it comes with is the gearbox, pedal box, clutch cable, shifter and tail shaft.my engine is out of a 93 vq stato and i guess the questions are, will it bolt straight up to my block? can i use the pedal box on my vl? what else besides a flywheel pressure plate and clutch do i need?

You will need a vb-vk cable pedal box, the front half of the vs tail shaft and the back half of your vl one. You might have to cut a little whole in firewall for the bit that the clutch cable goes through to fit. Thats what i did with mine.
