g'day i purchaced this a few weeks ago. it needed a bit of work after having a hit in the front and also a hit in the back which was poorly repaired by a previous owner (read VERY poorly repaired). the interior is one of the cleanest i have seen in a vl, still has stock steeringwheel, tape deck and speakers!!! i have now sold my calais (the blue one) and am in the process of transfering the driveline into the wagon. pulling the motor, box and diff out of the calais today then the diff is off to get rebuilt with a new LSD center to replace the minispool and it will retain the 3.91 diff gears. loving this build mate. i'd really love to get into the engine bay of mine the only thing that scares me off is all the holes and smnoothing are not returnable to stock! loving the engine aswell this will be one hot wagon when done. who are red star fab's? they advertise on this site? haven't come across (or at least registered) the name before

yeah hes an advertiser on here, used to go by a different name though. http://calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=237932 thats the link. as for the engine bay,im not going all out with smothing it, just taking out the battery tray, covering the engine loom, aircon and fuse box looms and cutting out the brackets for the wiring, might go as far as welding the little holes but i doubt it as iv only got tomorrow to do it before the car goes for paint ---------- Post added 06-11-11 at 08:47 ---------- here is the sexy new diff cover iv got in it aswell. just a shame i didnt get to give the diff a coat of paint before it went together
