hi just got my hands on a VP SS genuine manual, I have never owned one that is V8's in general (used to be diesel 4x4's) and it's a different world. well any way it's a 5.0 stroked to 383 (bull**it fast) has a mini spool heavy clutch hardened tail shaft and either a full computer or chip not sure i have been told that i can program it from a computer but i haven't looked yet. she pulls a bit when cruising but comes to life under the foot, but i have NO traction she will spin through to 4th. the mini spool hasn't helped at all. what's the best way to get it back to a daily driver with plenty of traction and retain most of it's craziness. any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Most people do it by adjusting their foot on the accelerator.. ie don't just floor it everywhere. I'd be surprised if it's actually that quick to be honest, if it's still running a factory T5 they don't handle power that well and if you've only driven diesel 4x4's, a 5ltr with an exhaust would seem crazy. Throw up a pic of the engine bay.

If it is a 9 second car, you would have known about it in the purchase price haha. It wouldn't be comparable to a normal VP SS, let's put it that way. And I'd be surprised if it didn't have some mods in the traction department, wider tyres, right suspension etc to support the power. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Unless you have a pic to prove some of this, it's not even worth reading. Darren Parker in his red VP SS ran 9's with a 383 Hoden N//A and that thing was not 'streetable' ie tubs and everything else. I'm thinking it would be funny since he sold this as a roller if I'm not wrong, and you bought that car, and think the stocko engine it was his race built 383. Is your car red and really clean by any chance with big tubs? lol. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

the drive line out of this car was apparently built by some super dude the bloke i got it of was doing up another and sold that drive line well not the ars end obviously in a vp ss which i now own. the engine had all the mental and very very expensive bit's taken off such as dual throttle bodies nos system etc etc. what i have is a vp ss very much capable of a high 9 sec pass but i don't want it for that i wanna be able to stomp the non believers in the dirt on the street. i alread slaughtered a r8 club sport and some ford piece of crap. either i have been ripped off bad or it's legit. tell me how to figure this thing out. please! only tellin you what i HAVE bin told. probably should have explained myself a little better guys. and yes it does spin though to 4th.

Mate your dancing around your self here! A super duper super hero built your motor/car, but took off all the 'expensive' things and yet still capable of a 9sec pass? Is it tubbed? Does it have a cage? Maybe you do have a 9sec super duper VP SS...but yeh...your story just isn't backing you up! Best of luck with your traction issues...

Hmm ya aint gettin it. it was a 9 sec motor the guy i got it from took all the really expensive stuff off the motor then dumped it in a vp ss that was sitting in his back yard he then sold it to me and urm sorry fellas but it's a 5.7ltr ls1 stoker not a 5.0. i did say i was new to it all. and yes it still just spins and spins furk all traction.
