I was wondering what would be the best king spring sizes to get would be, I was thinking SL in back an L in the front, Do you guys know how it will look?
Post up pictures of your car and state what springs you have in them..
Cheers!

No, go away. Look at all the threads we already have of "Post pictures of your colour/height/weight/springs/turbo/dog" - hundreds.
Put matching springs front and rear in your VL. Don't build another **** heap like so many before you.

Yeah good idea, lower the rear more than the front so you can look at the sky while you drive

i was looking for suggestions, could have said what you think looks best...

I'm pretty sure you are capable of scrolling past this thread if you don"t like its sort, rather than being a blunt smart ass on it "mods"..
And robbovl I do agree just match them. Even if they look odd at first just let them settle and sag a little.

Hahaha, yeah. One would think they could..
and cheers for the advice man!

tsk tsk tsk. I think it looks good sitting lower in the back mate, give the car a tuffer stance. Its not meant to handle, i lost that at buying a vl and then putting 20s on it.

And that's the difference between you and a useful member. You will find these kind of threads will receive a pretty negative response from experienced members because we honestly build things properly.

no, thats the difference between your car and my car. Ive had heaps of guys messaging me about my car build, paint, rims etc asking me heaps of questions which ive helped them out with
Properly or differently? Obviously the cars are for different purposes
Now lock the thread after your next response so it looks like you won the debate

Wikipedia says...
Suspension systems serve a dual purpose — contributing to the car's roadholding/handling and braking for good active safety and driving pleasure, and keeping vehicle occupants comfortable and reasonably well isolated from road noise, bumps, and vibrations
Lowering the rear more than the front upsets the balance of the car and is not the proper way to do a suspension upgrade

21-10-11, 13:12 GMT+10#14 suspension systems dont serve a dual purpose for some people, its PRIMARY purpose is to keep the car on the road, WHILE abosribng bumps and vibrations on road cars, you dont see mark skaife saying oh my cars to bumpy and uncomfortable? for people modifying cars its personal preference, nothing else, your not going to die if your cars a little lower in the back, big deal. i know of people with coil overs that are stiff as bloody bumpstops, and their cars are safer then when they were rolling on marshmellow like suspension.
nobody is in the position to judge other peoples cars, if i want to drive around on three wheels and scrape my front hub on the ground, i can, you cant tell me not to, same goes if i wana slam my rear thats my choice. just cause you dont like it doesnt mean you have to have a winge, if we lived in a world where we listened to everyones opinions all our cars would be indentical.
end rant

oh and a vl isnt exactly balanced in the first place, if you bought a vl to handle, youve got more luck going to coles and stealing a trolley.

Whether I was a mod or not, you'd still get the same response. And there's no need to lock the thread - anyone looking for advice would use the search function, scan the first page of a thread with a reasonable title and bin this shit for what it is. They'd then pick a member with reasonable responses and a bit of sense, and look at THEIR posts.
Just saying mate - been on the site long enough to have seen 100 guys like you come and go, and no one remembers their cars. Especially not for mismatched springs.
