Hey,
I asked this mechanic about lowering my vl and he said something about when i lower it, the body might shift to the left or right.. is this true?
All i wanted is new shocks and springs (dropped 1.5 inches or so)
Thanks
yeah get a adjustable panhard rod not to expensive. and if you can afford it get adjustable strut tops for the front as VL's tend te get a fair bit of camber on the front especially if your running big rims
thanks guys, yeah he said i'd need an adjustable panhard rod. he made it sound alot more difficult though. he said it might end up costing like 1500 for shocks springs and panhard + labour.
apparently it's coz my vl is an sl, n the wheels are closer to the guards. getting it all done tomorrow, hope it looks better.
not willing to sell my car or anything, but what would you guys say my car is worth? it's an 86 sl with no rust (that i know of) besides tiny bits under the windscreen sealing. 150,000kms, all stock except 2 1/4 cat back n 18" advanti gauntlet rims.. no crash history. pretty much perfect condition all around
thanks guys
EDIT: Manual N/A VL SL 86 btw..
This guy is taking you on a ride mate, there is no difference between the wheel position on a SL, Exec, Berlina, or Calais. I'd be getting my car out of there before he reem's you for $1500.
I brought a Berlina, absolutely immac, so accident history, with 150,000kms for $2700, with reg and RWC if thats any idea on what its worth.

yeah but he means $1500 if pretty much everything is screwed.. my family has known him for a while n he's pretty good, but i do think there is a difference, maybe not in the wheel position, maybe it's the body. coz you can see just by looking at the rear wheels if you lower it, it's gonna rub.
thanks for the info about your berlina
EDIT: went n picked it up n it didn't rub after all lol
