With only a budget of $10k you will want to find a neat SL / Exec that needs minimal body work and neat trim.. Paint will cost you at least $5k for full inside and out change of colour, plus vehicle purchase price and a turbo conversion. You'll find yourself out of budget pretty quick.
Look i understand that factor of it considering its a project i want to get it all right minimal body and interior work is what i want to look for when buying the car, i want to spend between 2 and 3 grand on the car itself so i get a decent grounding when i start, eliminating as much ****ing around in the intial stages of the project, i expect things like rust repair body repair and stuff like that but thats all appart of producing a nice car, ive when preparing the body itself for splaying my best bet is two coats of primer on the full body of the car itself, let it set for at least a month then spray, but like all projects engine bay work comes first so step by step ill see how i go, forgot to add to top it off a nice red turbo badge on the boot
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

While I would suggest letting the primer dry first you must remember a Chemical bond (I.E two coats of paint sprayed one after the other) is a LOT stronger than a Mechanical bond (I.E One layer dries and you spray another over the top).
Well said and agreed.
Regarding bumpers and mouldings on a majority of VL's i have noticed a flawed characteristic regarding there shape, warped/bent moulds, is this curable ?
thanks for the feed back so far gentlemen.
guessing that would be a wreckers or rare spares job.
Considering the car will be a street car, running about 17 to 19 psi would it be wise to have a roll cage ?.
Im also obviously going have to upgrade my brakes, any suggestions ?.
eBay man. I brought a whole front bumper set for 120 and it fits like a dream... As for the roll cage, it depends how much power your putting out at 19 psi... Don't worry about a roll cage for now. Brakes, I would go the vt upgrade... For now worry about finding a good base to begin your project ,with your ideas in mind. You will find your plan will change when you buy the car and star making power anyway.
A quality spray painter will spray the car in High Fill and let it sit for two weeks to allow for shrink back on any repaired areas, that probably what you mean.
Im at the end of my build, its actually just being painted as we speak and then all put back together and im done. I had a budget of 10k and now im at 30k. It just so happened that i have had a big year with my business and could afford all the upgrades and changes. As stated above you always change your mind.
I just had my car caged, but i plan on doing alot of racing, otherwise i wouldnt bother as they can be dear etc etc.
