EBC green stuff!!! Bitey as hell, much less dust than bendix ultimate. Also if you slap on the VT MC with the VS booster it makes a hell of a difference. Its a $300 mod at most.... well worth it. You could go some of the street/track pads but most of them work heaps better with a bit of heat in them. I'm pretty sure the bloke doing your engineers cert isn't going to warm them up for you.

i have heard that green stuff has alot of bad tapper wear on them. and like i mentioned they are only temp so i dont want to spend the big bucks on pads when im going to need skyline pads down the track ---------- Post added 28-09-11 at 19:22 ---------- ill warm them up myself haha before the engineer touches them

Are you wanting recommendations for VLT single pistons or GTS-t 4 pistons?

VLT single pot calipers i was just mentioning that i will be upgrading in a few months for the r33 gtst brakes once the vehicle is engineered with the vlt calipers as my engineer said it will be hell alot more of work involved in engineering r33 brakes

Green Stuff. If you're getting it engineered, and you want it to brake good. Then just go all out and be done with it.

Bendix ultimates all the way. I tried EBC pads in my car before I did the big brakes, they were terrible. Bendix were awesome, yeah they make more dust, and yeah they wear the pads out faster, but thats how you get a car to stop. EBC wear the rotor more than the Bendix ones, thats why there is less dust and they last longer, but they dont work as good either. imo anyway.

Yeah thats cool untill you do track days or something, then go to a full synthetic race fluid, its expensive though

alright ill continue using castrol until then. i have also decided to go a set of QFM HPX pads as reccomended by many on other forums

I've read about the QFM HPX pads for the R33 calipers on a few forums. They're realllly cheap, but apparently amazing. Sounds a bit odd.

yeah thats why i went them they do a set for vlt calipers so i thought id give them a shot and see how they go the are prob so cheap because they are aussie made and dont have a big name like bendix and ebc

Green Stuff pads are mainly for light weight small cars. Go some QFM HPX pads and Castrol Super dot 4. No need for master cylinder changes with VLT brakes. Make sure you have machined discs too (or new ones bed in a few hundred KMs. Make sure your brake hoses are in good condition, if they are original i'd fit new ones. When engineering the car it shouldn't take much more effort to engineer brakes as they only have to tick another box, inspect them and do a braking test like you're going to do with the VLT brakes anyway don't they?!?!

Boosters don't make braking better, they make pushing the pedal easier. Depends how you like your pedal feel, with pads that bite hard some people don't like too much vacuum assistance so they can get good feel through the pedal.

so if i dont like to much vaccum assistance im best just staying with the single diaphram booster
