Well if you were the seller you could ask an unreasonably priced $18k for it and it wont sell, or you could put a pretty reasonable asking price of $15k on it and then after a couple of months of it not selling take the one and only offer of $12k that you get.
As I mentioned earlier, it's quite hard without pictures of the actual car... it could be awesome, it could be a broadmeadows special.

Even with pictures it's impossible to say... Have a look what most stuff is priced at on here and what its got etc.. And go have a look at it. It could be a rubbish respray, it could have an untuned ems, with a china "35r" etc it's impossible to say from words and a picture.

yeh but just because someone has put 25 -30 grand into a car, doesnt make the car worth 25 grand. as has been said, only what the buyer wants to pay. U cant look at it like that cause otherwise if your spending alot aiming to get that money back ull end up being stuck with it. Remember, its STILL only a vl when it all boils down to it lol! Looking at the current market trends of what cars are going for is the best way. personally i reckon if someone wants to sell a car for 18k it would want to be IMMACULATE an have alot of mods AND/OR be a rare model.

I wasnt under that impression buddy, however altho not a LE or whatever it's still pretty rare to come by a black factory manual berlina turbo is it not?
Because unless I was barking up the wrong tree for over a year you don't see them everyday, now not my thread and don't plan on selling, didn't think I'd get ambushed for my opinion

27-09-11, 15:56 GMT+10#17 dinch... this thread isn't about your car. The $12k I said isnt a reference to what yours is worth... it's regarding the original post.

27-09-11, 16:12 GMT+10#18 just personally. i wouldnt buy a vl - (turbo/v8/calais watever suits your fancy) for anymore than 12 grand anyway. There bloody old cars and you can buy much nicer cars with better trim / ride quality and performance for that price. A project thats another thing tho, your devoting money towards it and your not worried about spending the money.
My daily i payed 4 grand for a bit over a year ago - genuine factory turbo manual. fixed it up abit. prob worth double that now but not for sale obviously.
Project car well, its a project so who cares what u spend on it lol
