hey guys and girls, i am wanting to get a vl but cant choose between the sl or the calais?? i like the calais because of the sleek look but dislike the that the light lids pop up and the fact of the cars weight. i like the sl because its the lighter one of the bunch and i do like the original look too! would like your opinion on the two and also pros and cons if you dont mind, am i just thinking about it too much??? i dont know let me know what you think cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Whatever tickles your fancy....if u could have the best of both worlds get both. Don't know how much more the Calais weights....wouldn't be too much I reckon.

haha ash you r just greedy but and remeber when choosing the calais has more electrics which could become a problem wen it the middle of summer and your window dnt go down but honestly the calais may be heavier but choose wat u like the look of more.

Nothing beats the look of a dark colored Calais, And nothing beats the look of a light colored SL. Its all about the paint i rcon Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Or how about the best of both worlds and get a Berlina, then you can have all your electrics, sunroof etc, if you can find one with the options you want, and still the clean look of no pop up's etc..

they weigh around the same so power wise your not going to be any slower in a calais compaired to an sl , as for the pop ups there ran off a motor so you just disconnect it that way they wont come up. calais's look insane when on the right rims ect and they have class and worth more in the long run

You gotta have electric windows so you can zip down the passenger glass and abuse your enemies house as you drive past, it also keeps the interior cooler in summer but you gotta love a lightweight SL with chasers and stock tail lights.

why not buy whatever vl is in better condition? your not going to notice the difference in performance from 100kg weight but rather notice the difference in performance between one driven 300,000 ks and one thats done 200,000 ks. ...sounds likme you want a berlina anyway

Interior is between SL and Calais; Electric mirrors; Tacho Dash; Carpeted parcel shelf - I think, not too sure about this one; Sunglass holder+hi-rise console; some came with electric windows as a factory/dealer option.

weight difference, remove the spare wheel, jack and all, and replace with a can of tire stuff. unless your into circuit racing, it wont' matter. personally, i can't stand the looks of a berlina/sl i hate the headlights, can't live without my electircs and all... you see.... personal choise
