Hey everyone, I'm wanton to stay with a 'standard' type rear end but would like to know if anyone is using upgraded mounts or arms and if so where to get them

I wouldnt really worry about it mate. If your making power that u don't need an upgraded diff then the STD trailing arms are fine. Just rebush them

That's not what I asked...
Has a Vlt LSD, 28spline axles.. In regards to launching off the line, how quick would you have to be going before you would worry about upgrading trailing arms..

You could box the trailing arms in to make them stronger, it seems to be a weak point & doesn't cost much money.
Have you rebuilt the lsd as they wont last forever. I guess you should box the arms in and have some fun before it fails & then upgrade

There's no hard and fast figure. Trailing arms are getting up to 25 years old now, so they could go under any sticky, hard launch. As said, rebush and box the lower arms if you're reallly worried about it.

Welded up and strengthened lower control arms, heavy duty upper control arms, kmac heavy duty sway bar and brand new nolathan bush kit for under the whole car

You can also get the square tube adjustable upper arms with Nolathane bushes, allows you to adjust pinion angle at the diff

If you go the route of boxing your standard trailing arms just ensure it's someone that knows their stuff. Some people box them through the centre which makes them super stiff with no give and then they bend at the ends near the spring locator. You'll need to support that area.
We had no real issues with standard ones running 10 second passes but decided to upgrade to boxed ones just to be safer and the rigidity took all of the flex and give out of them and they bent first pass. Lessons learnt!

They would be SuperPro there the better quality polly bush they also come with a 3 year 60.000km warranty as opposed to Nolathanes 2 year 40.000km warranty....
Rubber is fine everything has its application.
The VS ute rubber bushes are great. better then the Nolathane junk. tho for Drag racing and not street use some Rose Jointed ends would be the goods to keep the pinion angle correct they will be more harsh on your mounts tho and obliviously would need to strengthen the arms as well ect.

Anyone ever thought of getting billet arms made up? Might have a look into that...

24-12-11, 12:54 GMT+10#17 Yeah the numbers above are for boxing up control arms.
Tubular Cromolly control arms would be a beter option... If you start going down that route cost wise you may aswell go for a fully adjustable rear end with coilovers under the rear with standard wheel tubs.
Here some of millers work here on my mates VH not really a Street car tho and a bit more than what most of us would want to do.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
