Gday all, Q: What would you be willing to pay for Peter Brock memorial number plates?

Gday, Good question Jordan. I think that in today's market you could quite easily get about $20 per square inch, or roughly $3.10 per square centimeter. Assuming you are willing to separate, if you are not then I would assume a bulk discount would apply. All estimates include gst ofcourse. Do you know if this item fits other makes of cars for example my Honda integra? And has it ever been boosted. If this post doesn't make sense I appologise, it was a general answer to the topic at hand. Should you provide some more information I'm sure one of the persons on here who is likely to know more would be able to shed some light...

that guy on here who has the hilarious Brock tribute wagon, plus named his son after Brock and has the 'memorial dinner plates' as an 'investment' would likely pay heaps for them Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

IMO, they're worthless, even owning a genuine Brock i wouldn't want them anywhere near my car.

Firstly, I'm not trying to make money off his death! I just have these plates and asked a question any brock plate owner would want to kno...incl u if u were selling a set! so get off ur hi horse. And I certainly wouldn't ask 10k for them, as that definately would be profit from his death. I just need numbers as I don't kno wot they're worth and couldnt put a number on them without knowledge. ---------- Post added 18-09-11 at 17:47 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by aus880 [View Post] that guy on here who has the hilarious Brock tribute wagon, plus named his son after Brock and has the 'memorial dinner plates' as an 'investment' would likely pay heaps for them It's not heaps I'm after, just a fair price. I guess they guy u mentioned is after large profit from brocky stuff. I am not. I have a number of things that relate to brock and they ar'nt investments. But thanks for ur non comedic, and non smart arsed reply Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

[QUOTE=REALIST;2827092]IMO, they're worthless, even owning a genuine Brock i wouldn't want them anywhere near my car.[/ Why's that? Wots wrong with Brock plates? ---------- Post added 18-09-11 at 18:44 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by leb vlt [View Post] I ain't on no high horse mate, I got a mate with brocky plates and wants 6k and I called him a dreamer! U asked for opinions and I gave u a non smart ass 1 so no need to get defensive !! If I had any idea wot these plates r worth i wouldn't be asking the question. So pls dont presume to know what i allready kno. And yeh, 6k is dreaming and profiteering. Considering ur mate wants that much, it goes to show just how hard it is to put a number on them, When the scale may reach up that hi for all I know? It makes it harder to accurately price them fairly, with aparently such a broad range of prices? I wouldn't want stupid numbers like that. If I'd asked for money like that, I'd accept your profit from brocks death comment. Fact is I didn't... so I don't appreciate being accused of profiting off his death. ---------- Post added 18-09-11 at 18:58 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by leb vlt [View Post] I ain't on no high horse mate, I got a mate with brocky plates and wants 6k and I called him a dreamer! So by ur logic, if someone sells a genuine brock commodore for more money than the non brock version is worth...are they also profiteering from his death? And if u owned a Brock commo, would u sell it for the much lower price of a non brock version?

Well ok then, that was all that needed saying in the first place. And yeh, the plates actually saying "Brock" would be much better. But the fact that they're second hand I don't believe should make much difference. As far as I know, the value of the plates is based on the fact that the owner personally has Brock referenced plates in his or her name for their car. E.g... Let's say I never fitted these to my car, In that case, they would b In brand new mint physical cond. After that, the only value they have is the Brock reference. That's how I figure it anyway. If I'm wrong about that somehow, Im happy to be corrected? ---------- Post added 18-09-11 at 21:01 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by leb vlt [View Post] The cars are different as they cost more from factory and have a race pedigree, lic plates are all the same in wa whether there hsv, fpv, Hdt watever, all made by the same junky in lock up! Fair point, but surley aside from the performance spec, the Actual Brock name itself on the Brock commodore carrys a certain amount of extra money value toward the price when buying that car? There's plenty of optioned or race bread commos that dont cost as much to buy, as the same spec'd car with Brocks name/endorsement on it? Again, just my opinion,if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I understand that the physicality of the plates isn't worth jack...yes, made by junkies in jail. It's just a shame I've been painted as sum type of grave robber, for asking a normal question. I'm sure if I'd been selling a Blue meanie, I wouldnt hav been painted that way for asking the same question.

Who would want anything with 'RIP' in them? The aussiev8 forum have banned anything trying to make money off Brock's death and I think its a good thing. IMO, worthless plates.

IMO, worthless plates. So u disagree with the saying "rest in peace"? Wots wrong with that? I hope he is resting in peace. I went on a Brock cruise and got handed a car sticker that has "Brock rip" in the middle of it. Everyone took one. I understand ur 2nd point. Although, by that standard, anyone selling anything with brocks name on it, for any more money than it's non Brock counterpart is worth, would be "guilty"of making extra money off his name, wether a large or sml amount... ( including Holden themselves). IMO, I don't think it should b wrong to sell a brock type item for a bit more... Just not huge cash grabs.
