Hey guys run into abit of a problem, Basiclly I got wheels but they won't fit under the guard, the obvious solution would be to roll the guards, but both shops I've been to think the paint will crack. So $80-$180 to roll the guards best case scenario, worst case with cracked paint could cost upto $500+ to fix the paint. Or can I shorten my axels on my diff? Wouldn't even need to be that much, or will that require tubbing? Kinda got my heart set on these wheels, not sure what to do.

They are 15x9, and the tyre offset is 225/60/15

225/60/15 isnt the offset. its the tyre size

Shortening your diff is a big step to fit a set of 15x9s. Are they just interceptors? Because I don't really see the point. It's going to cost you more to get the diff done.

Diff will be a lot more than guard work. How badly do they rub? You might just get away with shaving a bit off the lip then touching it up with black paint. 225/60R15 is a small tyre for 15x9s, sounds JDM spec to me

They're Weld all star pros, wouldnt bother doign this for interceptors haha. Just to clarify, i want to shorten the axels, not the diff. Or can you not do one without the other? NZ, i cant even get them on the car at the moment, the lip on the inside, just wont allow the bad boys to go on.

No, both must be done precisely to still function properly. The axle is inside the axle tube (diff housing), and it is the axle tube's length that dictates the width of your diff. Shortening just your axles won't change your overall width, and will probably prevent your axle from engaging with the differential fully (no drive, destroyed axles/differential).

I see, does anyone have any idea, which workshops or shops do this kind of thing? Or who i can speak to, to find out what needs to be done. SXYHDT has the diff i want for sale, but doesnt reply. "vl turbo diff professionally shortened 1" both sides lsd is still tight as -$1100"

I would sell the rims and buy ones that fit.

If you mean the inside lip is hitting the trailing arm, then shortening the diff won't help (will actually make it worse). I think u need to buy rims that have the correct offset/backspace

Its hitting the guard, the part you would usaly roll, isnt hitting anything on the inside.

Try swap your rims with ones with the correct offset. The fact that they're 15x9 doesn't sound like the issue to me, espcially since you've got a tiny stretched tyre on them

If you can find out the offset I should be able to tell you if you will be able to make them work, but by the sounds of it you could be way off
