Hey guys does anybody have information on the viv laws? has anything changed because apprently everythings different now and you need some sort of spec's for the car i have been told by someone who does viv's but i dont know if his talking sh!t. Im currently in the process of buying an S15 damaged and i was wondering if its true if it is ill just end up buying a complete car. Thanks guys.

For VIV you need to take photo's of the damaged area, detailed photo's of all the repair work, have all receipts for parts and if you get any from the wreckers the receipt should have donor vehicle VIN number on it.Once thats all done you need the car to be checked and have a report written.Once all your paperwork is done you book an appointment for a VIV inspection through Vicroads, they will tell you date & time of where to take the car.In my personal opinion do all your homework first because unless your getting this car for next to nothing it might end up costing you more to repair than just going out and buying one in one piece.A friend of mine recently bought a Subaru,by the time he was finished with repairing/getting the report/doing the VIV inspection/roadworthy/registration the car cost him around $15000.He could have gotten one for around $16-$17000 and not go through the hassles he did not to mention the resale value isn't as good on a car with a VIV. Hope this helps

No problem. Just trying to save you the headache, with all the changes to the RWC laws, you would have been pulling your hair out trying to get that thing fixed & registered.
