hey just looking at a vl turbo its a factory turbo by the compliance plates lw5 mx7 but doesnt have the original engine! the engine number is 029023A
the second too last digit is definately a 3 and not a 8 what would of this engine come out of? possibly a r31 motor? any help would be appreciated

yeh well the engine in my calais turbo ended in a8! just lookimg through an old thread there is a engine number on both the hotside and cold side! and i was looking at the hotside so will have too have another look on coldside when i look at the car again

a 6 is na
a 8 is turbo
a with no number is a skyline block

so in other words its a n/a motor which is what i suspected

Unless you're reading the wrong number. Only the number on the inlet side will end with 6 or 8.
