ls1 conversion into a vr commo

im looking at putting a ls1 and auto into my vr calais has any one done this or heard about this being done. i would like to know about engine mounts, what would i have to do with a tail shaft, wire loom and extractors ect ect. any info would be great. cheers

Yes, its been done a fair few times into VR/VS commodores. There are companys (such as CastleMaine Rodshop) who sell off the shelf engine mounts for LS engines to mount in VR/VS for around $250-$300 from memory. Check out their site or others like them, i'd imagine there are a fair few shops in Vic who do that kind of thing aswell.

Be careful what any one tells you , these LS1's are Canadian and the cars were built in Australia , these Commodores "are not" built in Japan !!!
