Hey all,
A few questions on heat wrap and turbo beanies. At the moment I'm using custom heat sheilds in the engine bay for the heat coming off the dump pipe and turbo exhaust housing. It works, the only problem is it spoils the engine bay looks.
Was thinking of getting exhaust wrap for the dump pipe and a turbo beanie. Only thing is after a bit of hard driving the exhaust housing / dump pipe will glow red for anywhere up to 5 mins.... will a turbo beanie be able to handle that? otherwise what are my options for keeping the paint on bonnet/firewall from getting cooked?
HPC Coating is a good thing. I coat the rear of the turbo and the dump down to the cat. I also use a turbo beanie. Makes a massive difference.
If you have a squiz at the dump pipe, it is stainless but with a HPC Black coating.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
yeah, my bonnets already ****ed, i can't imagine how the fusebox is going...
also im getting heaps of heatsoak into the cooler pipes...
that heatwrap around everything should be sufficiant?
im lucky that fusebox has been relocated and engine bay is bare apart from washer bottle and catch can... thanks for the info duke... btw nice setup... very clean!
