Hey guys ive recently sold my vl and bought a 95vs calais with a 304i. Since ive bought the car its started to choke either on idle, driving and putting the gas on. Ive changed the spark plugs, ignition module, fuel filter and still no luck. Whilst this is happening the engine fault light comes on and does not store the code on the ECU. does anyone know what this problem may be or have haf a similar thing happen with their v8. Thanks guys

look at your MAP sensor before anything else, located on the firewall on the passengerside, check the vac line that runs to just behind the thorttle body, only need to pull off your engine covers if there on, vac line tends to get very brittle and hard over time from heat ect, while you at it replace the fuel reg vac as well... see how you go

Just taken the car to an auto electrician and got him to check out what you guys have told me and they still couldnt fault the problem. Its weird when it happens, just noticed today aswell, while drivin the engine came on again and it wouldnt change out of second gear aswell a the coughing and stalling. Is it worth while replacing the ECU? cause when the light comes on it is not storing the fault as a code. Cheers

Cheers it can be a faulty ecu. it has happened to me before, just try another ecu of a mates car if they have got one and see wat happens. also check your oxygen sensor.
