Hi Everybody!! Was wondering if you all would kindly enlighten me with what my options would be given that my crank angle sensor has failed again. This is the second time that I can recall that this has happen in the last 8 years, with I think a previous failure being the lead into the dizzy. This only happened late last night, so I haven't had time to assess and go over the car, just rolled it off the tow truck stuff it in the garage. Was not a happy a camper.... Thanks everyone!!

Maybe run a fine line of clear sealant around the bottom of your distributor cap. To stop any moister getting in. Other than that was it a new CAS or secondhandy.

Ive had my car for two years and only had to do one, pretty happy with that. So, why do they **** themsevles? Good idea by HTURBO to seal the dizzy cap, is it the moisture that does it?

Welllll, since I ran abit of seal around mine I haven't had a problem since. I've had a few go on me I allways used to notice abit of moister inside the cap. Then I decide to seal it up & It's been good for years. Touch wood. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I cant believe no one makes a part that works to replace one that is as faulty as the RB CAS. Is it moisture that makes them fail or some other reason?

I've done 3 in about 1000km, I think you might be onto something about moisture.. the last one happened on a wet day and the first one after I washed the car! Will get some silicone up in there!

This **** is the best for sealing and sticking... sikaflex. (make sure you got stick n seal, not just the sealant stuff) Im in the building industry, seriously this **** is holding your house together. You could use it to re tread tyres

Make sure you replace the plug and fit a new boot before terminating. I've never had a CAS go on me in a VL , just everything else, fuel pumps, injectors, fuel pressure regulators, air flow meters and an ignition coil, the twin cam head swap was a smart move in that regards. Only this started upsetting the nosey Parkers who would be better off minding their own business rather than spying on me.
