I had a problem with my VP series 2 recently. When backing up slowly while turning the wheel I got a loud clunking sound. I had the car on a lift and decided to tighten the sway bar link on the driver's side. That removed one noise and then created another, a thumping sound going over bumps. My son was looking at the top of the struts and pulled off the caps. Noticed that on right side one thread on the packing nut was showing, on the other side 4 threads. Took the car to a tyre shop in Melton and the owner explained that the strut bearing right was shot. So I got a strut bearing and a boot kit coz the boot was half missing anyway. The shop mechanic fixed the strut bearing gratis and Josh put it all back together for me. Now I have much tighter steering, no clunks at all, and no noise from the front end.
