I know the old Holden V8's don't mind chewing a lobe off of their cams every now and then. I'm doing an EFI conversion on My VL 5.0 and the "kit" didn't come with lifters. Will it be safe to run brand new lifters on an old cam or will I really need to buy a new cam as well as lifters? Cheers, Locky.

Cheers, Locky. I put in a my mates stage 2 cam in my Torana years ago, used new lifters to avoid any problems and within a few days stripped one of the lobes flat.To be on the safe side your better off buying new cam and lifters.Make sure you lube up the cam and bleed the lifters before you put them in. T.K.
