Hey guys,
Have a few questions about 28 spline axles, im finding it hard to find a pair of Vl axles at the moment so im thinking about getting VN axles I have in my garage shortened to fit.
How much of a risk of snapping is there with shortening and re-splining the axles, diff will be a LSD and in a non turbo VL.
Iv heard that you can use the VN short axles as the VL long and only get one axle shortened, true? or best to get both shortened?
Also any company in the VIC S.E suburbs that will do a good job that you recommend?
Thanks people.
They're not the same length (re: VN short compared to VL long). It's not worth it, as the axle needs to be cut and heat the be resplined. It can weaken it.
Just keep an eye on the forums for a cheap VL V8 diff, or buy a new pair of 28 spline axles from G&J Diffs in Dandenong.
114kw at the fly from factory in 1987 lol 220,xxx kms later who knows,
I already have a 28 spline LSD though, hence why i thought shortening the 28 splines wont hurt since its still better then 25? or doesn't it work like that lol
