hi guys, im looking to buy a car atm, r31, a vl, a vn, something with abit of power stock and then put some cash into it to make it rip some decent skids, thing is i dont know where i can take it after im done? what are the regulations for burnout comps? ive heard you need a safe car and your good to go, also heard you need something like CAMS license? car is going to be complete, and have a harness, bucket seats fire extinguisher, maybe even a cage ect, so its not going to just be some clapped out falling apart ****box vn. if not burnout comps, where can i take it to do some drifts/skids legally, im in the south eastern suburbs. willing to drive far aswell. aslong as its not interstate or something stupid. regards alex

as far as i am aware, you will need at least P's, as the insurance for the event wont cover people on L's.

Insurance does not cover you on the track. You dont need a licence to enter burnout comps.

Not insurance for the car you idiots, they couldn't give a **** about your car. Public Liability insurance.

The requirements depend on the event. Some won't allow people under 18 driving, some won't allow people without a Probationary or full license, some don't require a license, some require CAMS licensing. There's no set of rules for all events.

Up here in nsw L platers are fine to drift, and heaps do. Can't see winton being any different - just need a cams license. Not sure about burnouts.
