Hey guys i have a 15 week old puppy whos in critical condition from a the worst freak accident but is starting to come good hopefully he's tough enough to pull through 100% i know there alot of guys on here who are likely to have a dog or puppy whos thier best mate and i have got my lil guy in the "aec hallam" (animal emergency centre) which is pretty much the alfred hospital for dogs, they are doing an awesome job and im sure thier doing all they can, i am curious to know if anyone is interested in doing a "man's best friend cruise" to raise some money for "the aec" as a 100% donation, i'm not interested in revenue for myself but i have figured alot of guys with nice cars also have amazing dogs and might be interested in this idea. Can i have some feedback for how we can raise money and if anyones interested in doing this cheers guys. Also if anyone knows if a permit is required for this sort of thing.

don't need a permit however it is best to be thoroughly planned. if you want a big turnout it is best to inform police and people whose carpark you are meeting in.
only issue i can see is a hundred cars turning up with 10 dogs riding shotty might not be so crash hot.

e.g. leash on event, maybe muzzles if you have them. just to be safe. i'm sure thered be one dog out of the lot that wouldn't cope with the noise and people and other dogs.

yer im thinking that i would love a big turnout i think alot guys on here dont wanna say yes coz they are to "tough" but theres a fine line between tough and arogant proper restraints etc would be advised although i cant inforce it and yer surely is likely to be a couple aggressive muts that should be held together cheers for interest mate.

Nice idea but cruising means having cars and you'd need to bring a dog. I wouldn't let my dog near my car.

doesnt nessasarraly mean dogs need to be there could be more for the dogs than with them, i thought of this idea as i relised how much impact mans best friend really have on you when your sittin here waiting to hear if your dog is going to die or survive i wouldnt wish it on anyone my puppy still in oxygen box, is eating and reacting may still have a broken neck but recovering very well waitin on x rays tonight he may have lost his sight in right side and his brain was swellling its horrible and i dont car how tough some the guys on this forum think they are it would effect them too, i think fundraising for the AEC is a good cause and im not looking to make money out of it but they are the ones who will help if your dog has a similar accident, and they are doing so well and genuinally care be good to be able to give back to them

You've got a good point mate. I've only recently found out my 3 year old female pitty has cancer. When i was told the news i was on a job site surrounded by tradies and i just broke down. They really are a big part of your life and the vets who take care of our animals deserve all the thanks and support we can give.
Maybe a VL Day show & shine type setup were people can bring there dogs...look at cars and walk there animals would be alright?

yer mate breaking down over something like that is a nessessity my puppy is 16 weeks now he had a brickes plank dropped on his head he wasnt moving my dad was yelling i had no regard for the law at all rushed him to my vet at 200km/h did not top for anything i was willing to keep going if cops watched, if your interested i just got an update hes up on all 4 eating, wagging his tail and specialist looking at his neck, i just think its a good cause i wanna plan it properly involve this forum, a few local hot rod groups i know people in, and even bikes a big turn out with a sausage sizzle, stickers, maybe even get a local dyno shop involved and have a dyno run, show and shine i really think the money we all spend on our cars we can surely give a little to "the aec" as i know my dogs more important than my car, don't get me wrong my car is my love but in the end its merely materialistic where your dogs love and companionship can't be replaced. if anyone has anymore good ideas pm me cheers for interest guys good to know theres some top blokes about that arent to "tough" to express an interest in this idea

show and shine sounds like a much better idea. could even do it at the aec carpark if big enough?
you wouldn't need to bring your dog, but for anyone who did leash on would have to be a rule. any other restraints would naturally be optional.
