Ok so parts on BW diffs are interchangeable right?
And VR/VS non IRS diffs are BW?
So can I use VR/VS wheel bearings & seals on my VL? Apart from the different length axles the bearings/seals should be the same? Right?

Yes. VL disc brake BW78 diffs have the same axle bearing and seal as VN-VS BW78 live axles.
VL drum brake BW78 diffs have a different seal.
Edit: I assume you don't have the tools to remove or fit these parts; you would probably pay the same (for the parts) in taking the axles to a diff shop to be changed.

Got quoted $51 per bearing from Repco Maryborough, **** that. I'm gonna ask about Vs ones, I bet they're way cheaper even though they're the same product. Ridiculous!
I have got access to a press at a mates and can get them off with a chisel easy as
I'll head into Marybrough bearing supplies tomorrow and have a chat to this guy anyway though

I'll bet the pricing had a lot to do with it being a part they NEVER order in, being a country town.

I bet you're right! So these (http://www.autopartsspecialists.com.au/cart/products/Holden-Commodore-VR-VS-Exc-IRS-Rear-Wheel-Bearing-Kits.html) will work yeah? I'll order them tonight if so.

Just in case anyone comes across this, VS non IRS DISC wheel bearings are a perfect (far cheaper) alternative to 'VL' ones. Same applies to Falcon bearings etc, so shop around
