Just wondering.... Does anyone know the stock rwkw on a alloytech vz calais?? What would i be looking at parts and money wise to push up to around 190kw at the rear?

It will vary depending on whether its manual or auto. take away about 20-25% to get rwkw figure. Bigger/better air intake, ecu tune, free flowing exhaust and rockers would be a good starting point to get around the 190rwkw region.

Being auto take 30% off the factory figure for a rough guide. It'll take a more than a intake, exhaust and tune to get anywhere close to 190rwkw

my old 07 ve sv6 alloytech was 115kw at the rears bog stock. so, you would be looking around there. Its a fair job to get it to 190rwkw.. id go straight for the charger... even then thats big $$ and you may or may not get it.. I came to the conclusion it wasnt worth it, each to their own.. Although, if you can fab a turbo kit, ive heard great things about them running turbos and being extremely strong..

Alloytech motors extremely strong???? I dont think so, more like complete opposite, sorry but they are a piss weak motor And to get that power you need to charge it and ive heard of many people charging their Alloytechs and then eventually taking them of because the motors do let go, i think there was a mob in NSW who just did alloytech work and even they went bust and gave up on it, preety sure its all on SC

Thanks for the replies everyone It's so disappointing to know that they lose so much going to the rear.

In all honesty mate if you want more power you have the wrong car to do mods to, besides the basics like whats been said above, exhaust, CAI, possibly HD clutch or a shift kit if auto. Or else get yourself a V8 or VLT

Honestly don't bother. They're a ****, overrated engine with not alot of potential at the moment. You'd more prefer to work an ecotec then one of these.
