So my wagon will start and drive for half An hour then struggle a bit and stop. Then I can't get it restarted but if I let it sit For an hour or two it will start and drive? I'm thinking it's a fuel problem as everything else Seems ok. Just after some help with replacing the fuel pump or Fuel filter? I'm sure they run an in tank pump are they hard To replace ? Or if anyone thinks it might be something else causing the problem? It's a Vs wagon 6. Any help much appreciated thanks

The crank angle sensor is mounted behind the harmonic balancer / crank pulley. I can't remember it the ecotec crank pulleys are slip fit or press fit. It's a matter of removing the drive belt and crank pulley, un-bolting the CAS and fitting the new one then re-fit crank puley and drive belt.

The Holden v6 does have a problem when the crank angle sensors go, that it will start when cold but when you turn the engine off and try to restart it when warm it won't start. A single cam VL I had ,had this problem and it turned out to be a faulty coil , when it did go , it would blow a bit of black smoke , I'd be seeing if there are any fault codes stored on the computer , then checking for things such as low fuel pressure and flow to isolate any other electrical faults related to the ignition or engine management system.

Did you not see the post directly above yours? It is 2 weeks old and it says that the problem has been fixed and the crank angle sensor was at fault.
