Okay, So I got myself a set of VT Engine Covers YaY! but I cant get them to fit flush obviously. Looking at the engine the on the left side the cover hits the trans dip stick and I cant move it out of the way and I dont have anything to bolt up the front too.
So any help would be great as I want to get them to fit flush before getting them sprayed!!
Just wanting to know how others have fitted them ?

you need the accelerator bracket off the vt manifold so the front bolts up good luck finding one and when you do get ready to lube your ass up !

Are the rocker covers able to fit both sides or do they only fit on one way?

well i tried turning them around but they still hit the trans dipstick

1. bend the trans dipstick case slightly out of the way.
2. the throttle body plate to suit the covers needs to be the vt one as previously mentioned

I tried bending the dip stick as much as I could but anymore force probably would broke it. Im thinking maybe machine a little corner out to make room for the dip stick ?

all the ones ive done you can bend it out of the way so yeah dunno.
Also for the front cover to bolt on, mark where the hole is and see where its marked on and you might be able to drill and bolt it up or something

09-07-11, 15:11 GMT+10#12 the VT covers won't line up properly at the front as a VT manifold is slightly lower along the sides, thus bringing the side covers down a bit. When you fit them to a pre vt manifold the side covers sit a little higher.
The best way is to get a VT manifold, but a cheats way (which is what I did) is to put some washers under the VT spec throttle cable plate. This lifts the front cover up a bit to closer match the side covers. Not perfect but a bit less of a gap, here's mine.

you will also have issues with the fuel pressure regulator. It can't bot to that bracket at the back of the engine with the VT covers on, but as for the trans dipstick, I had no problems with mine fouling.

Called a few wreckers and no luck with the plate. and I dont know anyone that could somehow maybe even make some thing up to I can bolt it the front cover up to something
