Hello Member's.
I'm not one to get on here and post in the drag racing section as there is a shiit load of faster cars however I thought I would post up a little info of a Holden VR ute powered by a Toyota 1JZ.
Owner Derek Johnson and the boyz @ EFI Performance have been working together over the pass 3 years on this very basic, yet very impressive 1JZ.
Last night at willow bank Derek steered the UTE down the mile 9.2@148mph, his new PB from 9.5@143 on 26" tyre.
SPEC'S.
Holden VR UTE
Toyota 1JZ, stock standard engine, cast pistons stock rods.
HKS 272 cams with valve springs
Standard inlet manifold with 100mm throttle body
GCG GT45 turbo
50mm turbosmart gate
5" inch exhaust
EFI Performance fuel system
Wolf V500 ECU
LS2 truck coils
C16 fuel
C4 auto with 5000 convertor/transbrake

23-06-11, 21:04 GMT+10#10 Nah, We will stick with the 1J troy. They are a bit more rev happy and its more fun when its a bit more of a challenge.
Thanks Kyle. Yeah the rear is defiantly an area we are looking at to help it off the line.

24-06-11, 07:15 GMT+10#13 Yeah its still a stock bottom end. Only changes are Cams, Valve springs and rod bolts.
The head had been cleaned up, but I would hardly call it ported.
We are seeing full boost around 5800 without gas. Its a really good setup actually and no where near as laggy as we originally thought it may be.

25-06-11, 11:16 GMT+10#18 A STD 2j u don't really want to run over 800rwhp
It won't last very long over that power level
A 1j would probably be very similar
