when you press the pwr button swich does it illuminate on the dash? - if yes your switch is okay. I had the same problem and what l did was: 1. pull the overdrive solenoid out of the side of the trans. 2. there are 2 o rings. 3. one o ring is inside (little fat one) - replace that. ( main o ring ) 4. outer o ring - also replace this. Once l did the above, take it for a drive allow the trans to warm up, 15min drive and your overdrive will work...... If it doesn't work, replace solenoid. good luck.

yes, mine is a genuine turbo trans. Turbo trans don't have a solenoid on the bellhousing, the closest solenoid to your bellhousing is you overdrive solenoid, pull it out (vicegrips) and replace the little inner o ring and your problem will be solved. I was having exact same symptoms as you, dash lighting up etc, changed solenoid with no effect, as soon as l put new o rings and took it for a drive after 10-15 mins my pwr button was working. God Luck. I may have a spare o ring and if you need help give me a yell.
