long story short, brought this car, use to sit at a quarter on the dash temp, started to get hot all the time, couldnt work out why, tryed everything, so pulled the engine down found a water gallery was block cleaned it out, so basically a top end rebuild new everything head gasket etc, put back together running great, started to get hot again after about 3 weeks, got a 15inch thermo kept it cool for a while now its getting hot again, this is what we've done new 160 thermo stat hi flow, new big alloy radiator, new15 inch thermo fan biggest i can go with that radiator, new water pump, new coolant temp sensor new coolant no **** stuff either, new head gaskets, new radiator cap, timing is spot on, checked all the hoses, ANY IDEA PPL ITS DRIVING ME INSANE

I'd be putting the standard fan back on with the original shroud first. If Your water jackets are blocking up, maybe You should take it to a radiator joint and get the system flushed professionally (they use chemicals and pressure). The radiator could be getting blocked up too if there is crap in the jackets..

the water jackets where blocked on the old radiator it was the passenger side at the back of the motor that was blocked, ive put a new ally radiator on there now, wouldnt a 15 inch thermo be better than the standard fan, this thermo fam pumps heaps of air,

If there is crap clogging the jackets, it is going to flow to the radiator and settle in the end tank - blocking flow through the lower tubes. That fan only covers the 15" diameter of the radiator.. The factory fan and shroud sucks air through the whole thing.

What was the clearance like between water pump and timing cover? Test thermostat to make sure it is operating ok? Inlet manifold gaskets around the right way? Put the standard viscous fan back on as long as the hub is working properly or use au twin thermo's. Make sure gauge is not faulty and measure actual engine temp.

mechanic put the water pump on, tested the thermo stat before put it in an it worked, all the gasket were put on correctly, tryed the standard fan today still getting hot, gauge isnt fault can feel the engine so real hot, its like the car doesnt even have coolant in it, it gets that hot that quickly, it lose's a bit each week, topping up about 5litres a week, i drive 10 mins to work an back that it an just about over heats in that distance, oil is fine too , the coolant isnt going in there, must be a cracked head or block ?
