Hey, I have a vl berlina with standard springs and shocks at the moment, with 17inch vyss rims (tyres are 235/45/17) and from centre of hub to guard its 350mm on back and 360mm on front. Im intending to lower it, however unsure of what springs/shocks i should get. Dad bought me king spring lows all round (khrl-20 and khfl-22) which are meant to be 30mm lower, but from searching and looking at pictures it doesn't look very low at all. Dad's a mechanic so he can do the work, but i just want to make sure its low enough to look decent but not to low as to scrape or have a crap ride quality. 1) First question is, will the current tyres scrub if i put the king spring lows i already have on the vl, will I need new shocks and an adjustable panhard rod? 2) If i decide to go lower, in order to have it look decent, ride well, not scrape and still be legal, what is the best option. Ill mostly likely get a adjustable panhard rod in this case. Will i need new tyres? Superlow kings springs all round with new shocks? Superlow front and ultralow back with new shocks. Ultralow all round with new shocks? Do these look like reasonably priced kits for a good setup (any other ideas of good lower spring/shock combinations): http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/VK-VL-COM...#ht_1309wt_905 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/VK-VL-COMMODORE-S-LOW-KING-SPRINGS-MONROE-GT-SHOCKS-/330562817995?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4cf7144fcb#ht_1309wt_905) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/VK-VL-COM...#ht_1309wt_905 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/VK-VL-COMMODORE-U-LOW-KING-SPRINGS-MONROE-GT-SHOCKS-/330569934343?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4cf780e607#ht_1309wt_905) Any advice from people who have lowered there vl's would be great and any pictures of king springs lows, superlows and ultralows on vl's (preferably with 17inch wheels) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i have pedders superlows all round with new shorter shocks and an adjustable panhard rod. i have 17" rims with 235 wide tryes and have the rear guards rolled up.. and my fronts just rub under hard braking and cornering combination.. ive heard its easier to go 225 on the back. but there are some poeple that have better solutions too as far as rim offset. just do a search. ---------- Post added 08-06-11 at 15:18 ---------- oh yeah my car sits just a little lower than the arch matching the curve on the fronts and just tucks on the rear only about 1cm tho. i also have pacemaker extractors that sit at about 101mm above the ground.. just over legal.

1) You will probably need to roll your guards. New shocks should always be used when lowering, especially on a 23 year old car. You will need an adjustable panhard rod when lowering to re-center the diff 2) Go superlows, new short stroke shocks, and adjustable panhard rod for the best all round performance, looks and ride comfort. Pedders shocks are reasonable quality and price, Monroe aren't so good
