hey all, running a low comp turbo motor. t70 turbo with external wastegate...just taken if to a testdrive after finishing conversion into vk commodore and not getting any boost. u can hear the turbo spooling off its head, sounds like a jets taking off but no noticable acceleration, havent hooked boost guage up but id say it would be running @ 1psi if im lucky. ive checked all hoses and clamps, all tight, checked for vacuum leaks, none present. ive got the wastegate hooked up to a boost t piece ive clicked it up to what i think is 14psi. wondering if there is a way to test wastegate...ive been reading threads regarding blocked exhausts but ive just had a fresh stainless system made up,No catalytic converter and can feel its getting good flow out of end of exhaust... the motor has been freshly rebuilt but its been sitting around for a year or so,possible for wastegate diaphragm to fail in that time from no use? any theories would be appreciate.fix's would be even better Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

without a boost gauge its all a guess.maybe the turbo is making boost but you have another problem that is making it go crap, like an afm or spark issue.those chinese turbos can be great or horrible

Check waste gate isn't stuck open or if u have a blow off valve that's it's plumbed up back wards

i would have said plumb up a boost guage first of all so u know exactly where your pressure is at! then take tee piece out and see where its at with no restriction in the vac line to the gate and get back to us!

Double check your gaskets. When the cars running place your hand around the exhaust manifold to feel if there is any air leaks. Check for leaks between the manifold & turbo.(the little square gasket) & check your intercooler piping.

hey guys,no boost again! changed turbos from the ebay t70 that came with the car to a master power t70. the shaft bent on the old t70 and started grinding out the turbo housings...nice... anyways ive got a boost t piece controller, wondering if its faulty. i blow through the inlet side of t piece and air comes our the wastegate side of it,does not vary at all as i wind the boost level up or down. im thinking that if it was operational there would be no way air would pass through the t piece when its set at 14 psi. could be right could be wrong, ive checked everything else, even made some end caps, one side with a tyre valve and pressurized all the piping and intercooler and found no leaks. if someone is running this turbosmart boost t piece, could they maybe pull it off,see if they can blow through it,any other theories would be greatly appreciated thanks guys
