Ok so I have my 304 ready to go into my Vl and I've learnt I'll need to use the vn style power steering rack to fit the pacemaker conversion extractors. Is a vn power steer rack different to a Vr power steer rack as my v8 donor car was a Vr. When I lay my Vl rack and Vr rack side by side the Vr rack looks 2 inches longer either end. How will this work?? Thanks in advance

Could just be the adjustment in the rack ends from the original car. But you will also need to check the bit the intermediate shaft bolts onto, pretty sure they changed from VP onwards, so won't fit straight onto the VL intermediate.

Yer they are different in the intermediate shaft. I thought I could Chang the intermediate shaft to suit, however if the vn rack Has the same shaft as the Vl rack I might just chase up a vn rack. Are vn and Vl the same in the intermediate shaft?

VL and VN are the same. I have a VN rack in my Calais, the 2 small pipes near the main valve run under the rack instead of over like they do on the VL rack. Gives good clearance with the headers I fitted, those 2 pipes were touching the right header with the VL rack.
