Hey guys, Forgive me if this is a no-brainer, and feel free to hang **** on me if that's the case, but no amount of Googling has answered my question. I have a Pioneer head unit that I play music off my phone via the 3.5mm TRRS connector. This goes into the 9 pin port on the back of my head unit, which I had to buy a special Pioneer cable for. All good. I use bluetooth headphones when I'm on foot to stream from my phone. These can also play/pause/skip/go back/answer/end, which is infinitely better than having a cable to get snagged on. I want this in my car. I want an aftermarket head unit that I can pair with my phone, and then control music playback via tbe head unit's controls. As yet, I haven't found a reasonable, single DIN unit tbat does this - they all seem to stream for calls only. Any ideas?

http://www.alpine.com.au/showItem.php?item_id=171 I have the IVA-502E(2 din) which is 2 years old. Anyway I can type in the number for my phone on the screen & when some one rings the music automatically turns down so I can answer. The IVA-D511 has the same options & it's single din. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Thanks HTURBO, it's a start! Guess I should have specified price range range..... ---------- Post added 26-05-11 at 00:33 ---------- Found this: http://www.alpine.com.au/showItem.php?item_id=208 , but it's BT-hands free only (no music streaming). And this seems to be the problem I keep running into, although HTURBO has just shown me the fist aftermarket HU with BT music streaming I've ever seen. Too bad the unit is RRP $1899. ---------- Post added 26-05-11 at 00:38 ---------- 2nd edit: the description of the Parrot BT module (internal on the cheapie, external on HTURBO's suggestion) is exactly the same. so if you've got the double DIN HU streaming music via BT and the description is the same, then it should be the same with the cheapie. Sound right? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah that does some right. Your head unit has to be compatible with the parrot thou. If it is your laughing. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

ive got the same problem, ive been chasing a head unit to do the same for a while now but cant seem to find anything in the shops around here, ive got bt media streaming direct to the head unit in my truck (factory head unit) and love it, beats carrying around usb/ipod etc i just stream everything off my phone, got a killer app that streams radio stations all over the world which is pretty good also!

Yeah, I really want to be able to skip songs by pushing the button on the HU, rather than having to unlock the phone and stuff around pushing the button. I'm kinda surprised it's not more readily available. But I guess the market is only interested in Apple garbage, and it has the most useless bluetooth I've ever continually failed to get working. ---------- Post added 27-05-11 at 15:10 ---------- Ok, Alpine were quite helpful. Their HUs with built in BT do not support audio streaming, but one of their BT-ready units (CDA-105Ei, CDA -117E, CDE-W203E) can be equipped with a BT module (KCE-400BT), and will then support BT audio streaming. ****! Why it's not just included I have no idea, but I know I'd do things differently if I were the CEO. I found a CDA-117E for around $300, and the KCE-400BT for about $115, both including delivery. Ahh, finally... Thanks for your help HTURBO!
