Hey
Im not much of an audio guy but do know a little bit and dont think this AMP will power my speakers to almost their full capacity.
The AMP is a Kenwood KAC-6403 2/3/4 CH and the specs are as follows,
- MAX POWER 500W
- 40W x 4 at 4ohms [20-200kHz 1% THD]
- 60W x 4 at 2ohms [1kHz 1% THD]
- 120W x 2 at Bridged 4ohms [1khz 1% THD]
And the speakers i want to power to almost their full capacity are,
- Orion 6x9s Power (Peak / RMS) 180 Watts / 100 Watts RMS
- Orion 4" Power (Peak / RMS) 80 Watts / 50 Watts RMS
So with that AMP can i power these speakers to almost their full capacity i believe i can but want to double check?
Thanks
Dean

The 6x9s are 100w RMS at 180w Peak power
The 4" are 50w RMS at 80w peak power

They will be fine. More power may make them a little more dynamic but they will get no louder.

Well i want them to be louder.
So are you saying they wont be any louder except for maybe more crisp in sound?

they wont get louder with more power. They will become more lively, fuller sound at higher volume with a bigger amp but not a great deal louder.
If you want louder buy bigger speakers, as in 6.5" speakers up front + sub etc.

I already got 2x 12" subs, and on VLs you cant fit any bigger then 4" in the front unless you cut the doors out but i dont want to.
If i get a bigger amp then what i got will it sound better again?
appreciate your help
