Thought id do a quick write up on my VLT which has been in the build for the last 5 or so months. quick run down, brought the car September last yr for $1500. it was a Platinum Gold exec with sl interior with 200xxx on the clock. Intentionally was going to be a daily with no modifications, then did a n/a conversion and after 2 blown n/a box's i though why not. brought a A8 block and a turbo box with a tce converter for $1300 off a member on ct, thought i got myself a bargain. WRONG! motor was fcuked. after we slapped it all together in afew days, we started the car and smoke was blowing out hard. 2 cracked pistons and 3 rings. Spoke to a well known mechanic who has built some very tuff cars and we decided to build a decent motor with about 220-250rwkw. Then it all went from there.... mods are as follows.. Crack tested chemically cleaned machined balanced blue printed factory crankshaft ACL race pistons 20thou scat rods ACL main bearing set ARP head studs port and polished head wade 818c/1147c cam performance valve springs cometic gasket trans cooler new alloy race radiator with ford bf fan new lift pump & bosch 044 fuel pump sard adjustable fuel reg jatco 4spd tce 3k stall stage 2 shift kit 28 spline full spool diff vl turbo breaks all round 3 auto meter gauges on bonnet standard new injectors standard ecu custom t3 turbo I got the turbo built, it was a standard t3 but now has a .60 front sierra wheel (something done to the back no clue) 360deg thrust bearing, 12psi acuter and is internally gated. The box is my concern because after buying a dodgy motor from a member off here i was worried the box was the same, but we pulled it apart and made sure it was in working order then slapped a stage 2 shift kit. My only worry now is the car will be a pig to drive with the standard ECU and the 1147c cam, this cam requires a turbo such as 35/40 and an aftermarket ecu microtec haltec etc but we will see how it turns out. have literally no fotos of the motor being built because i was only in melbourne for one n half days a week while i was working at wonthaggi de sal plant full time. I brought the plates PRORB6 because my best mate who helped out when ever i needed it owns an RX4 with the plates PRO13B so i thought fcuk it will be good seeing the cars next to each other on the hwy and down at the strip. Future Mods..i am going to buy a haltec E6X plug and keep the car on a low boost for the auto, once ive got myself a 3 speed and a to4z ill crank the boost right up and add 31 spline billet axles. All this and street driven to and from work. here are fotos of when it was slapped together in 3-4 days to give u an idea what it looks like. ill update fotos when i pick up my engine and start bringing the whole to life Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Little update. Car has been running real good. Thought the idle would be a real **** but shes good at the lights n on cold mornings starts first go. The alternator decided to sh*t itself tonight on Westall Rd heading down to the workshop, thank god the auto elec was there and had a reconditioned bosch one. Haven't been hassled by cops yet, i drive it every day although a lot of people seem to hate the sound of the diff dumper lol. Here is some photos of when i drove down to Arthur's Seat. (camera phone) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
