hey guys, thought i would do a build thread on my wagon.... its a 1983 vh wagon sl/e ,had a 161 in it and 5 speed, rust around the usual places...passengers floor, tailgate, front windscreen, sills.pick it up for not a bad price, and so the rebuild started. brought a written off VR SS with a T5 5speed,so that will be the new heart for the wagon, the plan is to build a nice cruiser, strong enough to handle a few skids. ok so the plan is this; *304 V8,chipped ecu *T5 % speed box *VK V8 Subframe *VL Borg warner 25spline lsd diff *Alloy Radiator(Single thermo fan) *Custom Airbox *Custom Catch Can *1inch master cylinder *VR SS front Calipers(May go bigger yet) *Ultra low Springs and shortened shocks *Adjustable Panhard Rod *Smoothed,De loomed abd detailed engine bay *Chassis rail boxes *wiper motor cover. *custom tailgate interior panel and panel steel cargo panels *New carpet *wagon will be resprayed, yet to decide on the colour, looking at possible 2 tone sl/e spec, purple over silver. have a set of internationals to go on it and will be getting the tyres white walled, the plan it to get the wagon as low as legally possible. looking at a rat rod theme, something out of the ordenary, thinking out of the box, kind of like rat 304 form street commodores if you have seen that, red and white pinstriping ,whitewalls, sexy pin up girls in the engine bay. thats about it for now, should be able to update every week or so,im open to opinions and ideas,so dont hold back, cheers danny and here is what the progress is so far Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
