Ive got an old head deck some some 6x9s which id like to rig up in a nice box and run of 240v power for the back shed when im working on my baby, as dad only had a record played in there at the moment One of my mates did something similar and used a power inverter of an old PC as they run 12v power I han idea of using 12v DC power point plug... What about amps? Thats amperage.. not amplifier lol Desperately in need of some advice before i go electrocuting myself Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

you could probably buy a cheap 240v sterio for the price of a capable 12v power supply. a powerpack as pictured will not likely have enough guts when your pumpin them 6x9. try looking into powertech 12v power supply, approx 10amps should do the job or you can also setup with 12v battery with a charger

Hmm yeah, i know it would probably end up costing the same.. just thought it could of been a novel idea to make it. dem 6x9z are pretty pimpin... Btw i am defiantly a carpenter not an electrician lol I had thought about a car battery/charger type deal, but theyre AC not DC current

use a car battery with a cheap trickle charger. years ago i had a stereo setup in my room with amps/subs, 6x9's and other speakers, and even with no battery charger it lasted for weeks

Yeah i had thought of that PSI... but i wasnt sure how long the battery would last. If you ran subs and amps, just speakers should last ages. Ive already got a good car battery charger so that could be a good option. thanks boys

Check your specs on the power input of the amp. I think I run a 60amp fuse in th VL. Otherwise buy a 12v deep cycle battery & run it off that.

Trickle charger on a battery wil se you right, or a 12v inverter with a 15amp feed wil drive an amp OK

just an idea of thought, i installed a system into a truck the guy had one inverter already that was running off the acc and he bought another one and we ran that off the battery direct and it worked like a normal 12v system but might be a bit too expensive Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

look around for an old pc, my one has a 600w power source, u have multiple outlets aswell. one for headunit one for amp ect. not hard at all. much easeir then a battery and all that, or even hook a pc source to a car battery if u need the extra power
