So I got pulled up and coped a EPA & defect, it's been 35 days and I havnt received any letters or anything from the EPA or vicroads, I gave vicroads a call today and they confirmed there is no defect or EPA on the vehicle & the registration is not suspended, is this normal? How long should I wait before I start driving again?

I've never heard of that happening, it should be in the system almost straight away. If Vicroads say that nothing comes up then it seems there could be the possible chance that the officer recorded your registration wrong putting it in the system. (If that's the case, the right details will be written on the paperwork you would have received, just not in the computer system, which obviously you cannot check). All I can suggest is to contact the police station to which the officer belonged to and get them to confirm it. Although if it was recorded wrong and you could of essentially gotten away with it, by going into the station will result in them fixing it up and you receiving both the EPA and defect. Either that or fix what the defect had on it, take it to Vicroads and get the canary off Then just not worry about the EPA.

I've heard of this happening before. I'd just keep checking on it. If Vicroads tell you there is no defect, there's no defect.

just realised on the defect notice that theres a number missing from my licence number but everything else is correct, also the fine is correct and no its not a speeding ticket, its a fine for engine not complying with vic roads standard or something like that ---------- Post added 02-05-11 at 10:49 ---------- Just got off the phone with vicroads & EPA, vicroads said theirs no defect or EPA and the EPA said theres nothing in their system

Don't remind them, a mistake on the fine is grounds for withdrawal. If you remind them, they can issue a new one with the correct info on it. Bite your tongue, and if they take your licence, or money, take them to court

I won't be calling the police he'll no, but I don't think I have a case in court my cars heavily modified and nit very easy to put back to standard and they have photo proof

dsaray - leaqve it, and live life as normal, IF it does bite you, you have substantial grounbds in court for it to be dismissed due to the paperwork being incorrect

Let it go! If anything is spelt wrong or a mistake is made as simple as a letter missing from your street address or name on the ticket then it is instantly dismissed.... your win there loss! Happy days.

Me mate copped an EPA and had his license suspended. According to Vic Roads the car was fine and he had a license so he persisted to drive it and keep driving, however according to the police officer, on their system he had no license and the car had a defect. Apparently it takes some time to update both systems in be in correlation however in his case there was a problem. He went to court though and argued that Vic Roads gave him the go ahead to drive and had the unlicensed charge dropped but not his defective fine.
