It has been done. Allout is a R33 running a RD28 block with 26 head. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/for...t-r33-skyline/ (http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/330002-allout-r33-skyline/)

I also saw on a website that SPOOL are stocking RB28 and RB34 cranks for pretty good prices.

block cost 800 + about 500 machine the rb26 oil/water gallery. then u need custom made head studs. but well worth the extra cost if using 26head and slap 3.2 stroker

I might look into researching this also. Would be a good option if the head went on the rd28 in my patrol. Cause the rd28 heads are ment to be like $5,000.

quick a few of the serious cars out there are using the rd blocks but good luck with getting the details out of them. If you need one of these blocks to hold your engine together, my bet is that it's a race car, because the rb30 block can make in excess of 1000rwhp and that is more than you will need, or acutally use, in a street car

Yer it's for a drag car. Just tossing up which way to go. Would b good if there was more info out there on this. Some say the blocks are the same height as a rb25 block if that's the case I wonder how the stroke of a 3l will go, would push the pistons out the top of the deck

Anyone with enough coin could pop into a place like Harrop and ask for a billet block to be built and pay for developemnt. The risk vs reward probably killed it. In the LS scene, guys don't flinch at paying 7K for a block. In the RB scene guys whinge about paying $20 more to use a 90 Deg Hose End.

i can get the blocks made but its the molding that kills it, making them is peanuts after the mold though.

They're advertised for as low as $700 overseas and anywhere from $1100-$1500 in Australia...

I did say ment to cost that much. On the patrol forums they say it cost $4-5,000. Can see 2 people have just said in here it cost that much or more also. And my patrol is a 1996 so leaves the rb30 block basically out of the question as the engine is older then the car so can't be engineered and if I use my existing block I won't need an engineers for an engine transplant as it wouldn't have done an engine transplant.
