what kind of setup will i need to turbo my vs ute? how much roughly am i looking at for a stock set up and how difficult will it be to do? thanks

A good turbo for the 3.8ltr would be something like a t3/t4, you will also need as a minimum: •turbo $300-600 •manifolds with cross over pipe $600-1200 (depending on sec/hand or new etc) •dump pipe to suit $250-400 •wastegate $50-300 •Larger injectors, super6 ones will do $200-300 •intercooler and piping $400-700 •custom tuned chip $300-800 •vac lines $20 •2 bar map sensor $60 •intake pipe with filter $80 That's all I can think of off the top of my head.. Anything I've forgotten boys?

It's not alot of work but more a fair amount of research and searching for the right part. It's fairly simple to do most of the work on your own but some things will have to be done by a pro, such as the tune and dump/ piping if your not great with a welder...

Have a look at proflow fabrications. They do a kit for about 5 grand or something.
