I have purchased 3 cars from NSW now. Roadworthys are useless and can't be used in Vic, reg can be cancelled and remianing reg can be cashed in with the RTA. Car will need to have a roadworthy preformed in Vic and will also require a booked inspection at Vicroads when you do transfer of registration. This usually costs about $50 to book and involves checking engine and vin numbers. Not sure if other Vicroads check other things but that's all my local Vicroads have checked on my cars. Hope that helps.

as above the car needs to get registered in Vict. asap That involves cancelling nsw rego and applying for rego in Vict. You can't 'transfer' NSW rego across to Vict an inspection is required
