Hey guys I thought i might post up some pictures of my vl calais i am currently doing up i brought the car in 2004 stock as a rock and had a cream leather interior I brought a VS Calais interior and modified the passenger front rail and fitted the front seats, I had the rear seat bottom shortened to fit the VL frame I pulled the cover off the top of the back seat and had that modified to fit the VL seat but still not happy with it and will get that fixed before the car is finished also had door trims made up to suit will have vr front speaker pods on when finished I pulled all the bumpers and side strips off the car had them painted also had the side skirts colour coded and brought a set of cv8 monaro copies to replace the old Calais polished wheels I have fitted VT front brake upgrade on and a inch master cylinder and reco booster also drilled and slotted rotors a few months ago I brought a written off R33 skyline from the auctions to donate the RB 25 and 5 speed for the VL I brought a aftermarket exhaust manifold and bigger turbo for the engine. the engine had a aftermarket plenum and a nismo lightened flywheel and clutch I painted the engine black and the rocker covers Maranelo red (the cars original colour) I pulled the old rb 30 out and started to clean the engine bay up ready for paint I removed the battery tray and welded up the holes I did a stupid thing and cut a hole in the left hand side of the engine bay under the air box a few years ago for a cold air intake, i went to the wreckers and got a peice cut out from a VL and i welded it back in there My mate and I sanded the engine bay back primed it and he painted it Maranelo Red I have pulled the front k frame out and have new ball joints and nolathane rubbers for everything I had the k frame dipped and just finished rubbing it back to get it 2 packed black Let me know what you guys think Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

looks good man, personally i would have kept the calais interior, and the side skirts need to be black, silver looks really tacky. Also Calais mags looked nicer. love what youve done with the bay and suspension so far though, looks like its gonna be a very nice car when finished

Just a little bit of a update with my car im upgrading the brakes again with R32 4 spots on the front with VT front drilled and sloted rotors and adaptor kit from VHR32. Rear brakes are R32/33 rear twin spots with Vn Grp A drilled and sloted rotor ---------- Post added 13-09-11 at 20:37 ---------- All so painted tail shaft sway bar and rear arms all in 2pac just waiting for my rear discs to get here so back calliper brackets can be welded on. Bit of a update. diff is painted also sprayed stone gaurds and where the diff sat painted the fuel pump bracket and polished the last of the fuel lines. The diff and trailing arms are all bolted in ready. i decided to go a differnt way with the rear brakes, im going to keep the original rear brakes but just ad drilled and sloted rotors. but will be still putting the nissian 4spots on the front Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

great work mate. the cars come up a treat!!! how does it go with the rb25 in it?? whats the power delivery like with that motor. Ive driven turbo r33s before (might just be a newer built car) but they just seem much more smoother and stronger power delivery than a vl turbo. Id be keen to kno what u think.

cheers every one.Andy the 25 didnt go to bad i thought it could go better. the 3.45 diff gears were to tall. the the 4.11 will hopefully be better. it use to do 60 in first gear. it had problems starting and after some investigating and looking at my wiring diagrams i found that the Acc valve/ idle control solonid, air reg and vct wires had no power due to false info from a website. so i am yet to drive it again. more pictures in a few days cheers
