Uhm - as alot of you know I live in the UK and I've purchased a couple of MOMO wheels from Germany and Italy via eBay. One guy from Germany was selling 380mm MOMOs and beside Porsche/Ferrari in the eBay listing title also had HDT and a short explanation that with the correct hub would fit onto Australian Holden / HDT cars. But of course "Caveat Emptor" to you guys - if the guy can't show you a picture of the wheel and todays paper next to it, it's a scam.

Might i add, Barry Smith? lol..

If it was the UK well, a few VL Calais' made it here via a dealership before Vauxhall / GM pulled the pin on it. I have some pics somewhere of a Calais wagon that's still kicking around here.

Brought up from Singapore (which was the import hub). They all ran the 2 litre family 2 engine which I think was in the Australian Camira. Never saw a 3.0 litre on the roads (I lived there for 2 years in the mid nineties). Given the taxes, Certificate of Entitlement (your right to own a car) and various other costs to run a car in Singapore it used to cost $110,000 to get a brand new VL onto the road. I remember visiting a showroom and enquiring a price back in 1988 (as I didn't believe my cousin when he told me). Somewhere in a photo album I actually have a picture of a VL back then on the Singaporean roads. ---------- Post added 02-04-11 at 15:16 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by 3ltr VL [View Post] I always get these. Its more fun to play along My brother was in the market for buying a Ferrari a few years back so responded to an "unusually cheap" ad on eBay in the UK. The "owner" gives an address and coincidentally it's actually a few streets down from me. Of course my brother says "Hey my brother lives down the road from you and he'll check it out for me..." That's when the "Oh the car is actually stored elsewhere etc..." excuses started. Of course it was a scam and the "seller" freaked out when there was someone local that could call his bluff. Oh, if a person gives you the "my camera is broken" excuse if they cannot produce a picture - its a load of toss - VIRTUALLY EVERY MOBILE PHONE has one and you really have to go out of your way to buy a model without one. BTW: I love this website here where people make these scammers do funny things: http://www.419eater.com/index.php (check out the trophy room pictures - ROFL - LOL) ---------- Post added 02-04-11 at 15:25 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by N/A 88 [View Post] yeah lol i, and thats good to hear. id love to see a VL cruising around in the UK if i was over there on holiday or somthing, would probably make my year lol. also, great work on your car, loving what youve done with it. keep it up Thanks. Work is still progressing in the background and I'll put pics up when I'm next back in Oz to finish it all off towards the end of the year. The owner of the Holden club here had a VL turbo Calais wagon. Sold it on and apparently its now stored and wasting away in some north London shed. Electrics (surprise surprise) was playing up and that's the reason he sold it - It was his daily. As for the UK and Holdens I've been trying to track down the whereabouts of a genuine 1972 "Strike me pink" coloured Bathurst Torana. It's somewhere here. Just got to find it. Someone in the early 70s drove it through Europe covering 17,000 miles through the Soviet states as well. Worth bugger all here but a fortune back in Oz. ---------- Post added 02-04-11 at 15:26 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by mz_vl [View Post] i always get these in responce to a WTB thread.. i dont respond or open because i dont trust them there are quite a few different email addresses i thought putting ur email in the format- mis5vl(at)hotmail avoided unwanted emails hrmm As you guys know I've been buying parts off a few of you for my project however I will NEVER deal with anyone unless they can provide current photos of the item in question. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Correct there Matt! I was looking at it last year. But there's two turbo wagons and sedans (4 in total) that was brought here before GM pulled the pin on it citing the same reasons why Brockie couldn't parallel import the Director to the US. I have a picture somewhere of the wagon with UK plates. So 5 VLs in total. There used to be an Asteroid Silver VK HDT here as well.
