Hey guys my mums borrowing her brothers car a Black VY Berlina, anyway at low revs like really low revs when ya just go to put ya peddle down it nearly stalls then revs up properly, if i just keep my foot on the peddle a little bit it will just nearly stall then go back up to normal revs 1200 or so then nearly stall. Anyway its fine above that point, no troubles. What cauld it be? Cheers

I had this problem with my VY SS Commodore when it was cold, it also had a problem with hard starting. I found the intake had an air leak in it as the bolts had somehow worked themselves loose, I tried tightening them up with a torque wrench and one of the bolts snapped. So I ordered a new set of bolts & a gasket kit from Holden (cost nearly $400 for the gaskets & bolts alone) , I could've went aftermarket but I was in a hurry for them with the Xmas break & all, plus I bought a new torque wrench with a 1/4 inch drive on it , I think the one with the 3/8 drive was a little too much for it. Plus the bolts are torque yield which means they can only be used once (the Haynes manual doesn't tell you this), 8nm felt very tight for a 6mm bolt so I can understand why Holden would recommend changing them, plus on my own instinct I wouldn't try to reuse them. I did have a hiccup where some water from the 1/4 inch cooling hose splashed into the MAF meter (that hose has to come off when the intake is removed), this caused the car to misfire on takeoff when cold, just sprayed some brake cleaner (same stuff as contact cleaner) into it to clean it out. It is all good now and runs like a new engine even though it's got 252,000 kms on it.
