Picked up a one owner Series 200 VL today, and the problems begin. When we picked it up from EastComm it ran fine, payed the cash and took it for a few laps around the block and as I took a corner it died. They ended up giving me a free tow home (champions) and since then me and a few mates came up with these issues. -smoke coming from under heat shield when under throttle -misfiring/stalling (it's an auto) -oil leaking from rocker cover -starts rough, can run for anywhere between 5 seconds and 5 minutes. An RACV check was done on the car on the 7/3/11 and it says faulty external fuel pump which we replaced today but no luck. AFM was replaced in Decemeber 09, and apparently was running fine when the old bloke dropped it off. This car needs to go into storage ASAP so we just need to get it running enough to get into a storage unit. Suggestions? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

not sure if vls have the tuneable afm's like the vk, but maybe that will help im tipping oil outa the rocker is just a gasket.. when u changed fuel pump did u change fuel filter?

could be oxygen sensor/afm as far as the rough idle goes. smoke under heatshield could just be gasket or (like me) broken manifold studs.

The weird thing is that the idle is actually not that rough from start. But after a few minutes it'll progressively get worse. Will look into a gasket and check for broken studs for sure, thanks mate.
