Thought ild post this up, cars come along way since i first got her. Me and this lovely car meet due to unfortunate circumstances, i had smashed my Vl Calais and the insure company had made it a write off. So thinking the car was unrepairable i found this rare gem for a bloody good price. Although she didn't look like much and i had no ****ing idea what i was doing i payed for it and towed her back the same day The next day i sent out to repco and bought myself one of those ****ty tool sets, and began putting all the panels back on. and this is basically how i got her, no windows and ****ed bumpers but the paints was mint. A few weeks later i found myself nice blue interior to replace the ****ed up leater seats (got it coz it was cheap and it turned out to be smich). The same day i put the interior i also got her running for the first time, no exhaust or nothing bolted onto it (my brother bet me $20 ild never get it started so to prove him wrong and take his money, i did was pretty scary too haha ) Over the following weeks i got the bumpers resprayed and replaced the wiring loom THROUGHOUT it was all kinds of ****ed up everywhere. Fitted a 2nd hand exhaust and moved my battery to the boot. Few weeks after that i had her all ready for a road worthy, and she passed right away haha i was shocked, basiclly because it was the first time messing with anything with a motor. And this is how she sat for a while. Untill some maggot decided they'ld try to steal it but couldnt so just ripped my gauges strait out wiring and all, dogssss. Not to mention i had lost my license the same day........ wonderful day......... So i got myself a job while i studied at uni and slowly bought myself a turbo conversion witht he dream to some day turbo it. And since i had lost my license , what better time to start. So i began reading and asking questions ( THANKS EVERYONE ) and came to the conclusion it cant be that hard. Like you may all know the VL bug can get to us sometimes, and i kind of went overboard on an initial bolt on turbo conversion, because i hated my engine bay. So the time came to smooooooooooooooooth it all out and patch any unnecessary holes. Because i had already relocated all my wires a few months earlier with the dreams of one day painting the bay it was pretty easy to do. Most the body work was done with the old N/A engine in there, because i was still driving it occasionally. So i bought myself a paint pack from supercheap auto, a nice 200liter per min high flowed compressor with lines and guns for a fresh $200 and some paints and gave painting a shot, well primer first of course. I thought ild do something different and paint the rails and rad support black, hate seeing bright yellow panels through the bumpers on other bt1s. came out nice too. Then the yellow New engine goes in, with the tranny still on the car =[ wasnt much fun lining it all up but hey i aint no mechanic so i did well haha There she sits Power steering resivour Piping done - ****ing took AGES to line this ****er up and cut out part of the radiator support bar to fit it all, but once i got her on was VERY impressed. First time she had seen any light in months Engine bay all done and tidied up, was going to relocated the water resivour but that ideas kinda gone out the window so new washer bottles on the books. Looks stock as a rock, with its fresh as **** grey interior. ( THATS RIGHT asif ild leave blue with yellow). Specs well thats for me to know..... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Well i have got to say hands down, a clay bar has now become my favorite thing in the garage haha, the difference of before and after, and its ability to remove overspray is ****ing amazing.. Gave the whole car a rub down with the Megulars quick clay kit, and the results where spectacular, so i hit with some polish and wax and ended up with this EXCUSE THE IPHONE CAMERA =[ Some sun Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Still need to get springs to fix the ride height, but i dont see why i shouldnt pass a rwc now finished all the little bits and peices. Washer bottle was a late model ford power steering resivour, bit of of a clean up and some heat proof paint, looks good, and small enough to fit in lots of places In position Overflow Finally connected the bonnet struts loving them New Topgun 10.mm leads, plugs and a new coil my miss is pretty much gone now on idle and boost Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Defect cleared. 2 leaking injectors getting reco'd for free hopefully since i just had all 6 recod... less then 1000km ago. Guards getting rolled to put on Weld Pro All Stars all round. Systems done.....very deadly

apparently if injectors leak after a reco they are DEAD, so i ordered 2 brand spanking Bosch ones at staff price for $160 wrapped, if i could get staff prices back in the day i would never have bought 2nd hand ones and taken them to be reco'd. POOR MAN PAYS TWICE =[ Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Looks good mate, love the bt1 yellow, looks so good. I like the idea of the over flow and washer bottle. Is it the original washer bottle? looks it. How'd you go runing the hoses? Ill definatly be steeling that idea later on Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yer its the original washer bottle, just cut the washer side off and only leave the radiator overflow. Then remove that "leaf" protector which is under the cover. closest to the passenger seat inside the bonnet, then its just a matter of getting it on the right angle, little push and it will stay there. Seems to run fine, doesnt overheat or anything

lol this guy gets updates from the gods or something..... how did u know i was working on a new rocket cover :P I wanted to go with wrinkle red originally, but all my mates are saying to polish it up since the engine bays so tidy. Anyway, this is the first attempt, thats all done by hand so far, gonna try and find a buffer to borrow this weekend, otherwise might just get it chrome plated or something. ---------- Post added 19-08-11 at 16:44 ---------- Ohh yeah, shes also got new low king springs all around and new bushes all around also, feels soooooooooooo much betttttttter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
