are you allowed to mount a 4 point harness in only 2 places? eg have the waist strap on either side and have the harness coming from the same points, but crossing over itself on the back of the seat?
only reason i ask is i was told last night at the drags not to return untill i had atleast a 4 point racing harness (speeds of just over 190km, cut off is 170km). really would rather do something like this than have to drill holes in my carpet.

i realise the question might sound dumb, because i am asking if a FOUR point harness can be mounted using TWO points.
its just the official at the drags was like "just use the standard mounts and cross the belts over at the back" so i got thinking that possibly 2 each side mounted together on one bolt...
no? is this outside the andra rules?

yes it is out side the rules. you may be able to go to 2 of the rear seat belt bottom mount holes. there is a certain angle that the top seat belts are not allowed to go below

put a b piller brace in drill a 16mm hole in the top and 12mm hole in the bottom throw a sleeve in it, 15-16mm with a 12mm hole in it and use 12mm bolts that will give you your mounting points for your shoulder straps.

I have a 4 point Sparco in my car, the front waist strap is mounted into the front seat belt mounting points, and the shoulder straps go over the front seat, and onto each rear seatbelt mounting point (so the mounting point for the belt and the mounting point for the buckle) under the rear seat. Passed the scrutineers check everytime.

nice! i'll probaby try that one then!
tbh just not keen on drilling holes in my carpet. would honestly rather take out the rear seat every time i put the harness in than drill ugly holes into the carpet...
